Tom decided to put up a squeeze page where he will be collecting the details of his visitors details before sending them over to the product vendor's site. He then advertised the squeeze page and was also paying $0.20 per click.
After 100 clicks, 60 people joined his list and made one sale. He earned a commission of $20

Total Earnings: $20

Who did the better business?
I know a lot of people will say Bob but the truth is Tom did the better business.
Why?
Because Tom now has 60 people on his list that he can market other products to over and over again.
The story hasn't ended yet.
Tom then writes a short report that compliments the product he is promoting. He valued it at $27 and sent an email to his list of 60 people that he will give them the product free if they order the main product he is promoting through his affiliate link.
Two people took him up on his offer. That is $40 in commission.

Total Profit: $40
So who did the better business? Are you getting the picture?
Tom can make money over and over again from these 60 people. Unlike Bob who doesn't have anything to fall back on in case his advertising campaign runs into any type of trouble.
When you have an opt in list, you will never go broke again. All you need to do is send your list related offers and watch them take you up on your offer.
